The Veldt by Ray Bradbury was an eerie story that takes place in the far future. It’s about a family that lives in a house where everything is done for them. Basically, their is house is alive. It’s amazing that Bradbury, who wrote this in 1950, was able to imagine so much about the future of technology. Even 70 years late I wouldn't have thought of machines that bathe and tie your shoes for you.

For me, the ending was unexpected. Obviously, the children were very angry, but I didn't think they would lock their parents in the nursery with hungry lions. I was supportive in George's decision to turn off the house. I wonder if he had made that decision earlier, his children wouldn’t have done that. I couldn’t tell if Mr. McClean was aware of what happened once he got there at the end of the story. I would love to know what happens next.
